Making money on TalonMC
Jobs, quests, PokeHunts, legendary missions, player shops and the auction house, and what to earn from at each stage of the game.
TalonMC runs a real economy under the Cobblemon layer, and it is worth understanding early because money buys the things that make everything else faster: balls, healing items, held items and breeding materials.
Nothing here is behind a paywall
The server is free to play with no pay-to-win. Ranks, crates and rewards are all earnable in game
through playtime, voting and events, and the store is limited to cosmetics and convenience. /freerank
hands you a rank on your first join. Every method below is a genuine route rather than a slow substitute for buying
something. See economy and ranks.
The earning methods
| Method | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Quests | Structured objective lines that pay on completion | Early game, doubles as a tutorial |
| PokeHunts | Rotating catch objectives paying economy money | Early and mid game, your main faucet |
| Legendary missions | Multi-step chains ending in a legendary | Mid and late game |
| Jobs | Steady income for repeatable activity | Passive baseline at any stage |
| Player shops | Selling directly to other players | Once you have surplus |
| Auction house | Bidding market for rarer items and Pokemon | Late game, highest ceiling |
| Voting | In-game rewards per vote with streak bonuses | Everyone, every day |
Early game
Take the quest lines and work the PokeHunt board. Both pay you for things you were going to do anyway. Do not neglect apricorn farming either: crafting your own balls rather than buying them is the largest saving available to a new player.
Start voting on day one. You can vote here every 6 hours, streak bonuses reward voting daily, and being online means rewards arrive instantly.
Mid game
Pick up a job as a baseline underneath everything else. Keep working PokeHunts, and start legendary mission chains once your team can survive the encounter at the end.
This is where you begin selling. Surplus apricorns, evolution stones, spare Pokemon and bred leftovers all have buyers, and the players with the most money are the ones who noticed what others kept asking for.
Late game
Once the badges are done, the highest-value activity is producing what other players want and selling it properly. Well-bred Pokemon with the right natures and IVs are the obvious example, and the auction house is where they get their real price.
Legendaries from monuments and missions hold value, dungeons produce loot worth selling, and shinies from shiny hunting are cosmetic in battle but genuinely valuable in trade.
Habits worth building
- Vote every day. It is the cheapest income on the server.
- Check the hunt board first, and plan trips with the spawn biome guide.
- Claim your base before storing anything valuable.
- Do not undersell. Check the auction house for the going rate before listing.
