How TalonMC differs from vanilla Cobblemon
The server-specific rules that change how you play: level caps, legendary monuments, gimmicks, breeding restrictions and the economy layer.
If you have played singleplayer Cobblemon, these are the things that work differently here.
Level caps tied to badges
Your Pokemon cannot exceed the level cap attached to your current badge count. Base Cobblemon has no such system. If a Pokemon stops gaining levels, you have hit the cap and need to clear the next gym.
Legendaries come from content, not luck
Base Cobblemon spawns legendaries at extremely low random rates. TalonMC replaces that with Legendary Monuments and mission chains, so legendaries are something you go and contest rather than something you wait for.
Extra battle gimmicks
Mega Evolution is added on top of base Cobblemon through the Mega Showdown integration. See battle gimmicks.
Breeding restrictions
Breeding has server-side restrictions that differ from the base mod. Check the current in-game rules before planning a long breeding project, as these are tuned over time.
An economy layer
Jobs, player shops, an auction house, land claims and crates all sit over the base mod. None of this exists in vanilla Cobblemon. See economy and ranks.
Server-added content
Dungeons, quests, PokeHunts, bingo and ranked battling are all TalonMC additions.
The wider network
TalonMC also runs Prison, Skyblock, SMP and Dungeons, with Bedrock crossplay on those gamemodes. Cobblemon itself stays Java-only because the mod requires it.
