Mega Evolution and battle gimmicks

Which battle gimmicks work on TalonMC, how Mega Evolution is implemented, and what base Cobblemon does not include.

Base Cobblemon ships none of the modern battle gimmicks. Servers add them, and they differ server to server.

On TalonMC

Mega Evolution is supported in battle through the Mega Showdown integration. A Pokemon with a Mega form and the right item can Mega Evolve once per battle for a large stat and sometimes typing change.

What that means in practice

• Mega forms shift the type chart maths, so check the type chart for the Mega's typing rather than the base form's.
• One Mega per battle. Choosing which Pokemon carries it is a real team-building decision.
• Megas do not replace coverage. A Mega with a bad matchup still loses.

Gimmicks not in base Cobblemon

Terastallization, Z-Moves and Dynamax are not part of base Cobblemon. Some other servers add them, which is worth knowing when comparing servers: see the ranked list for which servers support what.
