Useful TalonMC commands

The commands you actually need on TalonMC, starting with /freerank. Availability varies by rank, so run /help in game to see your own list.

These are the commands most players end up using on play.talonmc.net. The list is deliberately short, because the ones you use daily are few and the rest you meet through the menus.

Command availability varies. Different ranks unlock different commands, some are staff-only, and the set changes as the server updates. Run /help in game to see what your account actually has rather than assuming anything here applies to you.

The commands

CommandWhat it does
/freerankGrants you a free rank. Run it on your first join.
/helpLists the commands available to your account. The authoritative answer.
/pcOpens Pokemon storage, where everything outside your party of six lives.
/healpokemonHeals your party. Often restricted, so treat healing machines as the normal route.
/spawnReturns you to the spawn hub.
/sethomeSets a home point you can return to.
/homeTeleports back to a home. How many you get usually depends on rank.
/shopOpens the shop interface.
/ahOpens the auction house.
/tradeStarts a trade with another player. The safe way to swap Pokemon or items.
/msgSends a private message.
/voteShows voting links and your reward status.
/discordGives you the Discord invite, where support tickets and announcements live.

Notes on a few

/freerank

The one genuinely TalonMC-specific command here, and the first thing to run when you join. It is part of why the server is free to play with no pay-to-win: a rank is given rather than bought. See economy and ranks.

/pc

Your party holds six. Everything else goes to storage. If a Pokemon has vanished it is almost always in the PC rather than lost, especially when your party was full at the time of the catch.

/healpokemon

Healing commands are commonly limited, because free unlimited healing removes most of the difficulty from gym runs and dungeons. Plan around healing machines and carry potions.

/trade

Use the trade interface rather than dropping items on the ground and trusting the other player. Both sides confirm, which is what makes it safe.

What is not on this list

Menus cover most of what you would otherwise need a command for, including the hunt board, quests and cosmetics. Rather than guessing at command names, open /help or ask in the Discord, and read getting started for the order to do things in during your first hour.
