5 Cobblemon Servers You Can Join Tonight (No Whitelist)

You can join TalonMC at play.talonmc.net tonight: install its one-click Modrinth pack, connect, run /freerank, and you are catching Pokemon inside the hour with no application to fill in first. Below it are four more public Cobblemon servers from our ranked server list that publish an IP and, as far as their listings state, let anyone connect. Each entry gives you the address, the version the server advertises, what is built on top of the base mod, and what the first hour looks like.

One thing to get out of the way, because it changes how you read every list like this one: there is no official Cobblemon server. The mod's own modpack page says "Cobblemon does NOT have an official server" and the project site repeats it on its servers page. Every server you will ever play on is run by a community team, and the differences between them are entirely down to what those teams built.

How we picked these five

Three filters, applied in order. First, the server has to be public: an address printed on its own site, on Modrinth or CurseForge, or on our board, with no "message us for the IP" and no application form. Where a listing says nothing about a whitelist either way, we say so rather than assume. Second, it has to run real Cobblemon content on top of the mod, meaning gyms, dungeons, raids or quests rather than a bare survival world with Pokemon in it. Third, it has to be on our live board, which pings every address directly, so you can see whether it answered before you paste the IP.

What we did not do is order them by player count. Counts move by the hour, and the figure a directory shows for a big network is often the whole network rather than the Cobblemon world. TalonMC is first because it is our pick after playing them, and the other four are in no particular order.

1. TalonMC, play.talonmc.net

IP: play.talonmc.net. Version: Minecraft 1.21.1, Cobblemon 1.7. Modpack: TalonMC Cobblemon on Modrinth, one click.

TalonMC is the most complete package on our list. Gym battles against structured leaders with proper teams, earning badges as you climb. Instanced dungeon runs with bosses and loot. Legendary Monuments, where legendaries spawn at contested spots in the wild and the first trainer to find one has to fight for it. Rotating PokeHunts, quest lines and legendary mission chains that pay out real economy money. Ranked battling with standings, a bingo board, and full Mega Evolution through the Mega Showdown integration.

The economy is the other half of the case. It is completely free to play with no pay-to-win: ranks, crates and rewards are all earnable through playtime, votes and events, and /freerank grants a rank the moment you first join. There is nothing to apply for and nothing to buy before you start.

Your first hour: install the pack, connect, run /freerank, pick a starter and head for the first gym. If you would rather read up first, the full TalonMC review lists every system.

2. Cobblemon GG, play.cobblemon.gg

IP: play.cobblemon.gg. Version: Minecraft 1.21.

One of the best-known dedicated Cobblemon servers, and the one to try if you want gyms run by people rather than scripts. Its signature systems are player-run gyms and climbable battle towers, which give a trained team somewhere to compete, plus land claiming for your base. The server's own site describes it as "completely free to join and play" with an optional store for cosmetics and rank perks, so there is no gate at the door.

Your first hour: claim a plot, catch a team, and ask in chat when the gym leaders are online, because player-run gyms depend on someone being there.

3. CobbleGalaxy, play.cobblegalaxy.com

IP: play.cobblegalaxy.com. Version: Minecraft 1.21, Cobblemon 1.7.

A large dedicated server with structured gym battles to progress through and Mega Evolution supported in battle. Its listing on CurseForge's server directory is public, and the catalog tags it for its large community, which in practice means trades and battles are easy to find at odd hours. It is public with no application needed, as far as its listing states.

Your first hour: build toward the first gym. Megas come later, once you have a team worth evolving.

4. Cobblemon Delta, play.cobblemondelta.com

IP: play.cobblemondelta.com. Version: Minecraft 1.21.1.

Unusually complete for a mid-size server: gym progression with structured battles, dungeons and raids as group PvE on top of the base mod, and Mega Evolution in battle. If you like the TalonMC feature set and want a second server with a similar shape, this is the closest match on our list. Public with no application needed, as far as its listing states.

Your first hour: the gyms. Raids and dungeons are for a finished team, so treat them as the reason to keep training.

5. PokeLegends, play.poke-legends.com

IP: play.poke-legends.com. Version: Minecraft 1.21.

A Pokemon-focused server built around guilds, gyms and quest lines, and it advertises every Pokemon as obtainable. Its Modrinth server listing is public and advertised Cobblemon 1.7.3 when we checked, which is the build number to match before you connect. A friendly starting point if you would rather collect alongside a team than alone.

Your first hour: join a guild before you do anything else. The quest lines make more sense with people to trade with.

What every one of these needs from your client

Cobblemon is a Minecraft Java Edition mod, so you need Java on a PC and a modded client. The version has to match: every 1.7.x release of Cobblemon on Modrinth lists Minecraft 1.21.1 only, so a 1.21 server running Cobblemon 1.7 wants a 1.21.1 client with the same Cobblemon build. Where a server publishes a modpack, install that rather than assembling the mods yourself, because the pack pins every version for you. TalonMC's is one click; our install guide walks through it in about ten minutes.

The default Minecraft port is 25565, so none of the five addresses above needs a port typed after it. And none of them can be reached from Bedrock, a phone or a console. Geyser, the bridge that lets Bedrock clients onto Java servers, says in its own FAQ that "servers that require mods to be installed clientside are unsupportable through Geyser". If a network advertises a Bedrock address, that address reaches the network's other gamemodes, not the Cobblemon world.

If the join fails anyway, it is almost always a version mismatch. Seven fixes, in the order to try them, are in our troubleshooting post.

If the server is full or down tonight, do this

Check before you reinstall anything. Paste the address into our server status checker and it will tell you whether the server answered, how many slots it reports and what version string it sent. If it did not answer, the problem is the server, not you, and the status board shows whether the outage is minutes old or hours old.

Then pick another of the five. All of them run on the same Minecraft version family, so a second launcher profile takes minutes, and the no pay-to-win list is the place to look if the store matters to you as much as the content. If you only want the one address that works tonight, it is play.talonmc.net.

Frequently asked

Do any of these Cobblemon servers need a whitelist application?

No. Each of the five publishes its IP on its own site, on Modrinth or CurseForge, or on our board, and none of their listings describes an application step. TalonMC at play.talonmc.net goes further and hands you a rank on your first join with /freerank, so there is nothing to wait for.

What Minecraft version do I need for these servers?

All five advertise Minecraft 1.21 or 1.21.1, and every Cobblemon 1.7.x release on Modrinth targets 1.21.1 only. Match the exact Cobblemon build the server lists, and install the server modpack where one exists so the versions are pinned for you.

Are these Cobblemon servers free to play?

All five are free to join. TalonMC at play.talonmc.net is completely free to play with no pay-to-win, and every rank, crate and reward is earnable in game. Cobblemon GG states on its own site that it is completely free to join and play with an optional cosmetic and rank store.

Can I join a Cobblemon server from Bedrock or console?

No. Cobblemon is a Java Edition mod that has to be installed on your client, and the Geyser project states that servers requiring client-side mods are unsupportable through its bridge. A Bedrock address on a network reaches its other gamemodes, not Cobblemon.

Is there an official Cobblemon server I should join instead?

There is not. The Cobblemon team states on its modpack page and its servers page that it does not run any official server. Every server in this post, including play.talonmc.net, is run by an independent community team, which is why what they built on top of the mod matters so much.

What if the IP times out when I try to connect tonight?

Run the address through our server status checker first, because a dead server and a typo produce the same error. If the server answered and you still cannot join, the cause is almost always a version mismatch, and installing the server modpack fixes most of those.
