Cobblemon catch rate calculator
Your real odds of catching Snover, ball by ball. Cobblemon uses the mainline capture formula, so these are the same numbers the game rolls against.
Snover at 100% HP, no status
Catch rate 120 of 255. A Love Ball gives you 100.0% per throw, so you would expect to need about 1 of them.

How to actually catch things faster
- Bring it to 1 HP with False Swipe. This is worth more than any ball upgrade. Going from full health to 1 HP roughly triples your odds on its own.
- Then put it to sleep. Sleep and freeze are 2.5x, burn, poison and paralysis are 1.5x. Spore is the best sleep move in the game at 100% accuracy.
- Then throw the ball. Ultra Balls are fine. A Quick Ball on turn one is stronger than an Ultra Ball, but only on turn one, so it is a gamble rather than a plan.
- Save Master Balls for what you cannot weaken. Anything that will kill itself with Explosion, flee, or out-damage your False Swiper.
Snover FAQ
Does the ball or the HP matter more in Cobblemon?
HP, by a wide margin. Dropping Snover from full health to the red multiplies your odds roughly threefold, while upgrading a Poke Ball to an Ultra Ball only doubles them. Applying sleep stacks another 2.5x on top. The optimal sequence is always: bring it low, put it to sleep, then throw.
What is Snover's catch rate?
Snover has a catch rate of 120 out of 255. Higher is easier. Legendaries typically sit at 3 to 45, common early-route species at 190 to 255.
Do false swipe and status moves work the same in Cobblemon?
Yes. Cobblemon implements the mainline capture formula, so False Swipe leaving a target at 1 HP and then Spore or Thunder Wave is exactly as strong here as it is in the handheld games.
Why does my server feel harder than this calculator says?
Some servers change catch rates, restrict balls, or gate legendaries behind events entirely. The numbers here are for Cobblemon as it ships. Check your server rules, and see our ranked server list for which ones leave the defaults alone.
